“We worry about what a child will become tomorrow, yet we forget that he is someone today”

-Stacia Tauscher

It is that time again, time for the 8th Annual Helping Hands Development Center Honors Banquet. It is at this banquet every year that we honor various children of different ages from different walks of life. We celebrate these children every year in hopes that they will understand that the person that they are today is extraordinary and that their excellence will only increase as they get older.

It is tremendously important to celebrate our children now while they are young. Not only does this show them that we believe in them and are excited about their success, but it gets them excited for their future and all of the amazing things they will accomplish.

From personal experience, my parents and family celebrated me every chance they had. From something as small as coming to a celebratory lunch in elementary school for a small award to traveling four hours out of their way to Virginia on their anniversary weekend to see me get inducted into an honor society in college. Those memories are something that will be with me for the rest of my life. The celebration of my accomplishments whether big or small made me see how important anything that I achieve is and how I should continue to reach for the stars, not only make them proud but to be proud of myself.

As a community, we have to make sure that we are celebrating our children every chance we get. It will be those times that they will remember the most when they grow up and reminisce about the days when they were younger.

So come out on March 16th this year and celebrate with us as the children receive awards for winning our poster contest and writing contest. We will also recognize a few students from our financial literacy class. Last but not least, we will honoring two deserving individuals with the Trailblazer Award for their work in the community.

This will be a night that you do not want to miss, great food, great people, and great fun honoring those both young and older for being the change in our community.
